So whatever happened to good ole Christmas tradition? Caroling doesn't have to be a thing of the past.
My mother lives on a quiet dead end street, where an elderly woman resides also. My mother thought it would be a great idea if she could get a few people together to go caroling to her house. Of course with permission from her family she lives with, my mom quickly put together a night to remember.
With no time to spare, she recruited some family members and friends. With about 15 minutes of practice, we were off on our adventure. One house turned to two. We did go visit more but unfortunately they were not home. Quite sure they were probably out last minute shopping.
With that being said, we all had a great time. Vowing next year to do it again. Of course with more practice and more people. We had fourteen of us, great turnout for short notice, if I say so myself. Afterwards, we went out to a local restaurant and when finished dining, serenaded our waiter as well.
My mother received a phone call the next morning. It was the family with the elderly mother, thanking her for making her night. She thoroughly enjoyed it. What a great gift. Some traditions should never die, I'm thinking this is one of them.
